As a result of the agreement with IV, Huawei has license to patents related to mobile devices.
Intellectual Ventures (IV) announced today it has entered into an intellectual property license agreement providing Huawei with access to certain portions of IV’s extensive patent portfolio. As a result of the agreement with IV, Huawei has license to patents related to mobile devices.
“Through this agreement with IV, Huawei gets ready access to rights for a broad set of technologies,” said Mathen Ganesan, executive vice president Invention Investment Funds at Intellectual Ventures. “Mobile device manufacturers in the US and Europe have previously recognized the value of IV’s portfolio and we now count one of China’s largest companies as a customer.”
IV has invested billions of dollars in building a portfolio of tens of thousands of IP assets in dozens of technology areas. Through scale and expertise IV works with customers to structure sophisticated deals designed to help companies strengthen their market position by reducing their current risk and providing access to the invention rights they need to stay competitive.
